New to blogging but love the idea of having a central place to show the latest pics and update family and friends on what we are up to!

Baby, oh baby!

So my blood pressure has a mind of it's own and was at stroke inducing levels this morning but was at risk of fainting lows today at my dr appt. This fluctuation issue along with my nagging headache gave the dr pause so she is admitting us for induction tonight at 8 pm (as long as they aren't too busy so we're still praying hard!).
Hopefully tomorrow morning we can log in to post pictures of our new little lady! Here's hoping for a smooth induction and a fast labor and delivery!
YEAH! I'm so excited!

Woohoo!!!!!

Nope, no baby yet- and we're working on it all darn it but she must be really happy in there.
Our big woohoo for the day (or more like the year) is that MIKE GOT THE JOB!!!!!
We've been praying big time for things to go well with the marathon of interviews and applications process and what not and they called today to offer the position to him. He has to pass a drug test (haha, we're so old and boring that that should be no problem at all) and they are still checking his driving record (which is good so no prob there) but the job is his. YEAH!
After his initial 5 week training in Ohio next month he will be working from home on a local territory. Add to that that it is salary based so budgeting will be WAY easier and has all sorts of other perks like profit sharing and a company car and a great full benefit plan. We are just so excited and I am so proud of him. This job is truly a blessing and an answer to prayer!

yuck

That's just how I am feeling. After weeks of high blood pressure and a weekend full of stress dealing with Mike's abundant reports and Hadley being sick- MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS SO LOW!!! Today at my dr appt it was so low they took it again thinking the cuff/ machine ws broken. And so low that the dr wouldn't even check me to see if we were making any progress. I am going to be freaking pregnant forever!
So send me your tips- other than walking and spicy food- what can we do to get this baby born already!!!!!

Some recent pictures & sick baby update

So I figure since I am sitting around the house waiting for Colby to arrive, I might as well be productive. So I finally downloaded some of our recent pictures. And had myself a good long laugh at some of them.
First, my little sickie baby. Hadley is luckily feeling MUCH better. The labs came back today and the drs decided it isn't RSV, just a bad viral respitory infection, but at least not as serious as RSV. And the ear infection they thought she had had cleared up when the fever went down so no more trying to force more meds into her. Just her breathing treatments. I think she is making up for lost time in acting completely wild and misbehaving. She was brutal today! And timeouts are back in full force. Between not totally feeling well and having been inactive for the last 3 days, she ran Mike and I a little ragged today. And the poor cat. Hadley has some obsession with the cat and was whooping on her today- above her norm of trying to capture her to give out lots of kisses. Today it was too funny to push the cat off of whatever furniture she was on and THEN chase her and kiss on her. Glad my kid is back but geez!

We put up the pack n play in the corner of the dinng room so we could have a baby station in the living area of the house. I kep thearing this thumping one day when Hadley was playing wiht her baby dolls in the dining room and I went to investigate. Hadley had overturned my hospital bag to use as a stepping stool, climbed intot he bassinet part of the pack n play and was rocking it back and forth (thumping the wall). When I asked her what she was doing in there, her response was to put her hands up by her head, close her eyes tight and say "Shhhhhhh....shhhhhh....nigh-night".

While most nights she goes to bed with no problem; we have been getting a little more restless at bedtime and you never know what you are goign to find when it finally gets quiet. But this would be the most typical- upside down, tush up, and on the blankets so you can't just cover her up again. The stinker.

A couple weekends ago, Michal and Teagan came down from Roseville to help me make a bunch of dinners and casseroles to put in the freezer for when Colby arrives. Poor Teagan wanted to play with Hadley so bad and was being so loving. Hadley of course was completely stand-offish and would whine if Teagan came hear her. The whining made Teagan want to comfort her which in turn drove Hadley more crazy. It took a full 24 hours before they finally sat down together and took turns putting rings on the toy and played nicely- for 5 minutes before sharing one toy became too much for both of them. Haha- maybe we should play with others more often.

And Mia has a new favorite spot too. Hadley's baby doll pack n play is next to the big one in the dining room. Usually there are babies sleeping in there but if not- then the cat is! At least until Hadley finds her there and begins to torment her some more!

No baby today and Hadley update

So we ended up at the ER last night with Hadley due to some respitory distress. She woke up at almost 1 am breathing really shallow and fast and generally freaking me out. She had been holding a steady temp at 101 and just generally sick and miserable for over 24 hours so this added to it was enough to send up off the the emergency room. Well, 12 hours later we were finally sent home after many breathing treatments and what not. Official diagnosis is RSV. She is to continue nebulizer treatments and some antibiotics for a concurrent ear infection and some other steroids to help the breathing and if she shows any sign of worsening, then we go back to be admitted to the hospital. They sent us home more to be nice to us I think than anything else. As luck would have it, my OB called today because my blood pressure has been hold steady my last few appts and she wanted to make sure I got monitored again today to see if the induction was nesseccary or if we could pu it off. With me tellign her what was going on with Hadley she was feeling more strongly that we should wait to have Colby as long as possible. So since my Non stress test went well today and my BP was ok, we are holding off on induction. This gives us a chance to get Hadley well first and let's Colby bake longer which is always a good thing. I have to admit I am a little disappointed. I am ready to not be pregnant any more and sitting in the discharge pharmacy waiting for Haldey's meds and seeing all of these daddy's picking up their wives meds and carrying baby seats into the recovery unit was a little disheartening. But we'll eb there soon enough.
We'll keep posting updates if things change!
Hope you all are feelign good and are better rested than we are today!

Update and Eviction Notice

So many of you know that baby Colby has been giving mommy a run for her money the last few weeks with high blood pressure, landing herself in the 90th percentile for size at an estimate 7 lb 9 oz at 35 weeks gestation and the turning herself breech at 36 weeks. Well, WOOHOO! She turned herself back around and all of our blood work has come back looking great. We are officially not going to worry too much about her. As long as the little stinker keeps her head down, we'll be a-ok.
Mike has been off in the Boston area for the last several days for work and shouldbe home this weekend or early next week. We have some serious prayers happening over a job interview he had via phone yesterday with a company looking for a local representative. He would cover all of Northern California as a property adjuster- no more major travelling! Plus it is salaried and has benefits and a company car. If you are so inclined, we would gladly accept more prayer power that he gets this job and can be home with me and the girls!
And last on our update- Colby has officially been given an eviction notice. She has been ordered to begin removing herself from my belly on the 23rd. Because of her size na dmy raising blood pressure, the dr has decided it is time for her to find new accomodations and we will check into the hospital on January 23rd for an induction. That means we hope to get to see her cute little face by the 24th. Yeah! My hips and back are excited about getting some relief! And I am more excited to welcome her home!
We'll keep everyone updated with any new developments!

Big girl bed and feeding the baby

So we are trying desperately to get ready for Colby's arrival. The list of to-do's is getting shorter but there is still plenty to do. One of the things we checked off was getting Hadley her big girl bed. She sleeps there at night like a champ. Naptime is still touch and go and she will proabably use the crib for a while for naps but she LOVES her new big girl bed. Little stinker is so possesive that she yells Mine at me when I try and make it in the mornings. :)

And we have been practising how to be nice to babies with all of Hadley's baby dolls. She got a new set at Christmas of a highchair, pack n' play and stroller for her dolls. The other night she was feeding her baby in the highchair some of her animal crackers. Mike asked her when he came in the room "Are you feeding baby?" She launched herself into my lap, pulled up my shirt and started jamming the crackers into my belly button. She was so excited about feeding Colby, it was hysterical. Gonna be a good big sister.

Holidays update

So I am behind, as usual. Here are some pics from our very fun trip (after Hadley stopped throwing up from the flu it was fun, that is) to So. Lake Tahoe. Hadley's first snow adventure was exciting and she was really good. Even through the flu part of the weekend was really good. And she had a blast riding down the hill near the cabin with Daddy.

And here is some of Christmas Eve at Mimi and Poppa's and of opening presents on Christmas day. It took ALL DAY to open all of her gifts. The one time we got her on a roll and she opened one and went to open another instead of stopping completely to try out her new toy or to try on her new clothes, silly Daddy pulled the toy out of the box and the gift opening ceased immediately. She was so funny though with everything. I'm sure enxt year will go much faster!!!

We made a Gingerbread house late. Meant to do it with her on Christmas eve or Christmas but the flu she had in Tahoe, Mike got the 23rd and I got on Christmas Eve so needless to say, our festivities were WAY scaled back from what they would have been. But better late than never and she had so much fun....and then realized the icing was "nummy" and after I decided she had eaten enough, Hadley had a major meltdown when I put the gingerbread house up and got us all cleaned up. Whew, did mommy do a bad thing.

And here is our very happy new year celebrations. We had an appetizer picnic on the floor in the living room and watched Funniest Home Videos with Hadley. She loves that show and was cracking up. hen we put on our party hats and blew our noise makers and had a grand old time being silly together. Loads of fun!
